The two most common types of writing are exposition and argumentation. The former focuses on providing information through the use of source material, examples, comparison, contrast, cause and effect, generalization, and subsequent conclusions, while the latter appeals to logic and tone to establish character motivations and inner flaws. Both exposition and argumentation require an opening situation and a main premise or key phrase to drive the action of the story.
The purpose of exposition is to impart information through the use of authority, comparison, contrast, and cause and effect. The latter uses poetic emotion to make a point. The former is more formal and uses general language and tone. The former is geared toward presenting a particular viewpoint, such as a historical or literary event. The latter focuses on presenting a point of view and appeals to the reader’s sense of logic.
Explanation offers information through the use of authority, examples, comparison, and contrast. It may also employ cause and effect, generalization, and subsequent conclusions. The latter, however, involves appeals to tone and logic. For example, a synthesis is made up of two main pillars: a major premise, and a minor premise or key phrase. The former uses a variety of techniques to make the reader understand the subject of a piece.
Developing a good plot is crucial to the success of a novel. The writer should first develop the main characters. Then, he or she must develop the main themes. The main theme must be explored deeply, not simply surface-level. The narrative can be either first-person or second-person, or it can be omniscient. It should contain an opening situation and a conflict. If these three components are effective, the story is likely to succeed.
While the purpose of the book remains the same, the methods employed to develop the story are different. The purpose of a novel is to engage the reader in an ongoing dialogue. The reader must be able to relate to the main character, so he or she must relate to it. For example, a syllogism consists of two major premise statements and a main idea. In addition, a thesis is a statement that describes the overall theme of the book.
The introduction should present the author’s perspective and purpose. The author’s purpose should be clearly stated in the introduction. This is the first point. The author’s viewpoint should be reflected in the body of the article. The thesis should be unique, compelling, and useful. The writer’s goal should be to convey a message that will help the reader make an informed decision. The author should be able to provide a compelling argument for their opinion.
